5 Glimmers | Finding our way home

Hi lovelies,
One thing I've been thinking about this week is how life is constantly asking us to let go of one thing so something new can find its way in.
Sometimes that's a difficult goodbye. Sometimes it's simply trying a different routine, meeting new people or saying yes to a small change that ends up feeling just right. There can be sadness and gratitude sitting side by side, and somehow they both make the ordinary moments shine a little brighter.
Here are a few of the glimmers that found me this week...
Glimmer One 🧘 Monday morning yoga
Every Monday begins with a 30-minute drive to my yoga class in Mount Martha. I've been making this journey for years now and it's become so much more than an exercise class. It's a peaceful community of gentle souls.
The drive itself is part of the ritual and is always one I feel lucky to make. Looking out at the waves breaking along the beach before the day begins is one of those simple reminders that beauty is often waiting for us when we slow down enough to notice it.
Glimmer Two 🍃 Mum's lentil lasagna
In an attempt to get ahead for the week, Sunday became a cooking day.
Mum's lentil lasagna is one of our family's favourite comfort meals, but this was the first time I'd made it since losing her.
Reading her handwritten recipe while I cooked was unexpectedly emotional. I'm so grateful for these everyday rituals that keep her close. A familiar recipe, her handwriting, the smell of dinner cooking... they're small things, but they carry so much love.
Glimmer Three - ✂️ A fresh start
After many years with the same wonderful hairdresser, she has decided to follow her own dream of becoming a full-time yoga instructor.
While I'll miss seeing her, there's something incredibly inspiring about watching someone choose a path that feels more aligned with who they are. It also nudged me towards finding someone new, and thankfully I have.
It's amazing what a refreshed haircut can do. Sometimes the smallest changes help us feel a little more like ourselves again.
Glimmer Four - 🐾 Velvet Mabel
Mabel returned home from the groomers this week looking impossibly cute and feeling like the softest velvet cushion.
I don't think there's much more to say than that... except that if you've ever buried your face into the freshly groomed fur of a beloved dog, you'll know exactly why this made the list…and she smelled so much better!
Glimmer Five - 🎨 Art friends
One of my favourite things about being an artist is the generosity of the creative community.
I've found that artists genuinely celebrate one another. We understand that every artist has their own voice, their own audience and their own story to tell. There's room for all of us.
This week the five of us exhibiting together with Gallery Swan at the Affordable Art Fair got together for a photoshoot. Most of us are far more comfortable behind the canvas than in front of a camera, but somehow that made it even more fun. There were plenty of laughs, lots of encouragement and a lovely reminder that creative friendships are every bit as meaningful as any other kind.
I feel incredibly lucky to call many of these people friends.
I hope you've found a few glimmers of your own this week, however small they may have been.
Until next Sunday,

A little invitation
I'll be exhibiting with Gallery Swan at the Melbourne Affordable Art Fair later this month, and we've been given a small allocation of complimentary tickets to share.
If you've been thinking about coming along, I'd love for some of them to go to this wonderful community.
Send me an email and let me know you'd like some.
I'll send them out the details until they've all been claimed.
Whether you make it or not, thank you for being here each Sunday.
Sharing these little glimmers with you has become one of my favourite parts of the week.
